Fromagerie Duroux

Since 1936, the Duroux dairy has produced and matured cheeses from Auvergne. The family dairy works with 60 farmers and collects milk within a radius of 30 km from the dairy. 60% of the collected milk is transformed into cheeses. Traditional maturing in a previous rail tunnel (1300m length). An eighty yeared cheese story, an authenticity and a well-known quality from four generations. Awards : several times rewarded (a lot of gold and silver medals) for the Cantal cheese we produce and mature (at different ages of maturing) and for the Salers cheese we mature.

Dam of l'Aigle

Apart from its unusual history, the dam is also distinct from its architecture. Majestic, the reservoir has a capacity of 220 million m3. The highest water drop is 84m and the length at the top is 289m. In 1982, the construction of a fifth production group makes the dam the most powerful EDF installation ever made on the Dordogne river.

The Towers of Merle

With the help of the self-guided tour booklet (in FR, EN, NL and DE) and the riddle game, discover the castrum and its viewpoints. During the holiday period, numerous "Naturally medieval" activities and guided tours are offered. Pushchairs not recommended. Very difficult access for people with reduced mobility. Dogs allowed on a lead. Good shoes are recommended. Part of the reception area is under construction in 2023, which may cause some inconvenience. We thank you for your understanding.
