Village of Salins
Description
The village is close to the waterfall, and it has preserved a mine of traditional features such as fountains, typical houses and buildings round the Romanesque church.
This 12thc. church, dedicated to St. Pantaleon, is noted for its bell cote, a 13th c. wooden statue, the enamel reliquary of Limousin (13th c.) wich represents the legend of Sainte-Valérie. There is a very interesting sculpture of the moon and the sun on the western door ; they refer to cosmic symbolism.
