When in 1575 the fighting was at its fiercest, the famous Madeleine de St- Nectaire successfully led the protestants and defeated the Catholics... Also worth a visit is the Romanesque Eglise St- Martin (church) with capitals, stunning murals, fours, the more traditional heritage and the "Barrage de l'Aigle". You can also discover the world of birds in this wild land, tormented and imposing.
